Are you fed up with the ear buds that came with the new iPod shuffle that you just bought? The fact that the controls for the iPod are located on the headphones, using your own can be quite problematic.
But lucky for you theres a fairly simple way to use your own ear buds without loosing that almighty button that controls all aspects of the shuffle.
Now, I know that this video was actually made for the iPhone ear buds but the concept is the same. The whole process is actually really simple, just follow this tutorial you will do fine.
Alternatively if you dont want to risk destroying your ear buds you could just cut the wires, strip them and then solder the leads together.

He calls the earphones iPhones. He can’t even remember what they are called. He also calls the iPod shuffle an iPod nano. He corrects this, but he doesn’t correct it when he calls the iPod shuffle an iPhone. Twice. (Wait-three times.) He also calls them “headphones,” and not “earphones,” which they are correctly called. And to top it off, the earpieces he replaces the apple ones with look exactly the same.
@tzone92 Even though the tutorial was made for the iPhone ear buds the concept is still the same. The ear buds that he replaces the apple ones with are JVC and they’re bluish/purple.
why not just cut the headphones off all together, and solder a fucking 3.5mm jack on so you cha swap the cunting headphones any time you want
If you just cut off the headphone jack and solder a 3.5mm jack on it still wouldn’t have the controls.
