YouTube has always had the HD button in just about every video for a while now, but that wasn’t true HD. Before now YouTube has only supported a max of 720p which is still considered HD by most. But starting next week YouTube will begin allowing users to upload and view videos in 1080p true HD.

What does this mean? Every YouTube video uploaded in HD will be able to support 1080 vertical “lines” this means that videos will begin to display much clearer. Unless you are watching youtube videos on your TV you most likly will only see a slight improvement in quality and a much longer load time.

Well with every problem there’s a solution.

There’s a very useful website called JiWire. They have a database of almost all the public Wi-Fi hotspots in the United States and various countries. With with the economy in the drains these days who has money to pay for Wi-Fi. Well you’re still in luck, many of the hotspots listed are free.

All you have to do is select your country, select a state/province, and tell them your city and zipcode. A list of hotels, bars and coffee shops in your area that provide Wi-Fi in your area will appear. You can then get a map to that location and see if they provide 802.11B or 802.11G.

What kind of experiences have you had when using free Wi-Fi?

You use twitter, email, and text messaging every day to keep track of friends all over the world. But once your done having fun you have to actually get some work done.

Wouldn’t it be great if those services helped you get that work done. Xpenster is a new service that allows you to use a number of different services to help you keep track of your money. Heres how to Twitter with Xpenster’s service.

To get started go to the Xpenster website and register for a new account. After you login click on “Account” at the top of the page. You will then be presented with a number of options th choose from, just scroll down till you see “twitter” and click add.

You will then be asked to enter your twitter username (notice no password required). Once you have done that the xpenser twitter account(xpn) will then start following you.

You can then send direct messages to xpenser with updates about your money. For example if you wanted to post a new expense in the category of food you would post D Xpn dinner $25.00 #food. You can also record payments, all you have to do is post D Xpn received +$15.00 from #clientx.

Would you consider using twitter to manage your expenses?

You’ve probably noticed that little box just below the user information on user profile pages. Well before now they’ve only linked to some internal pages of twitter.

Lately I’ve seen this question all over the web, “How does twitter make money?”. Well to put it simple, they don’t.But now twitter has started to advertise third party applications (for free).

The ads are unobtrusive and generally promote twitter related items so they blend nicely with the current layout. But the real question is how much does it cost to get your app featured in those new advertising spots. John Battelle said that Federated Media is sharing some of its revenues from ExecTweets but also notes that twitter has a history of promoting apps that they find interesting without receiving any compensation for it.

Meanwhile the creator of tweetie says that they aren’t actually spending a single dime to get featured on twitter and that twitter actually approached them. They explained that they want to promote apps that promote “variety, relevance, and value”.

Lets face it, Twitter has to make money somehow. With their minimalistic design makes it hard to include advertising without destroying the user experience. Anyway, the ads blend in so they don’t seem to be a huge problem.

Most people say that your resume should always be shorter than two sides of an A4 piece of paper. Well get ready to shorten that to less then 140 characters, because finding a job on twitter is about to get a lot easier

Twitter can be a great tool for finding a new job but the information is scattered all over the place. But thanks to a new website Twitter-Job-Searchengine all you have to do is type in the job you are interested in and you will be presented in a very organized fashion with a number of results

If you are going to try to get a job through twitter make sure that your web presence isnt going to damage your reputation. Just dont post anything stupid untill after you’ve signed the contract.

Twitpic offers a a link to your picture that is short enough to fit in your twitter post without going to another service like shorturl.

You probably want all the photos that you just uploaded to twitpic uploaded to your flickr too. Well now there is a new website that makes that task even easier.

Twitpickr is a website that allows you to migrate your pictures from twitpic to flickr. All you have to do is enter your twitter username and click start. Twitpickr will then start to search through your twitter feed for any twitpic links.

You wil then be prompted to select which pictures you want to upload to flickr. When you are done with that click upload.

You are then taken to flickr where you must log in. Once you have done that all your pictures will be magically coppied to your flickr account.

If you like to keep up with the latest gadgets and software you might be spending too much. With websites like RetailMeNot and DealLocker, you can find some hefty savings.

Frequent online shoppers probably know the benefits of shopping online, lower prices, the ability to shop whenever you want and the item you want will almost always be in stock. But you could be saving even more by checking known coupon websites.

If your in the market for a laptop you may want to consider getting one refurbished. Most people think that refurbished means unusable or needs to be fixed up more. But actually refurbished products are at about the same quality level as the ones sold in stores. You might want to check out Dell’s Outlet Store they have all kinds of computers that have been refurbished and are being sold for hundreds below retail price.

In some cases you might want to wait for the savings to come to you. WIth WishRadar you can sign up to be notified when an item on your amazon wish list reaches a certain price. For example if you are waiting to buy that movie that just came out but its $30 and you know that the price will drop you can set up WishRadar to notify you when the DVD is being sold for $15.

When I buy items online the hair on the back of my neck sometimes stand up. No, this isn’t because the item is scary its because I know that I could probably get the item cheaper somewhere else. Thats where PriceGrabber comes in handy. They will pull the prices from all online stores and tell you which store is selling the item for less. For example, I recently saved $20 on some ram for my computer.

Now, if your into the whole coupon clipping thing RetailMeNot may soon become your best friend. All you do is enter he URL of the website you are visiting and it will show all the available coupons for that site. Most of the major online retailers will have coupons for up to 40% off your total purchase.

These are just a few resources that you can use in these tough economic times to save some cash.
