In a recent interview with Dave Girouard president of the Google enterprise division it was said that Google docs may take over Windows Office to become the number one office suite in the work area.

Google says that with their comprehensive array of office applications and the stability of Google apps more and more businesses will be switching to Google docs.

Google also admitted that docs is “much less mature” then other Google applications such as calendar and Gmail.

But all this is about to change.

If you owned a business would you use Google Docs exclusively? Leave a comment below.

Google has announced that there will be an official Wave app store.

Since Google Wave is still in a closed bet not very many people have gotten the opportunity to play around with it but hopefully you, like me have watched the the Wave technology demo many times and waiting for that email from Google containing that precious invitation code.

As more and more people begin to test Wave a few more of the bugs will be squashed never to be seen again. Once that is done Google will probably begin rolling out more invites. But Wave doesn’t only need front end users it also needs more developers.

With the introduction of a new app store you can expect to see more developers join in on the fun, some with the hopes of making money and some just hoping to make the next big thing.

If you were a developer would you join Google Wave now that it has an app store?

With the creation of a twitter application 140inabottle you can send your messages anonymously to other people without worrying about harming our precious planet. All you have to do is browse on over to http://www.140inabottle.com

The 140inabottle website only requires three things of you, first you have to write your witty message you want to be sent in 140 characters or less, then you enter the verification text into the re-CAPTCHA box to verify that you are indeed human and lastly click the send button.

Your message will then be sent to a random twitter user via the @140inabottle account within three months.

Raindrop aims to centralize all types of communication such as e-mail, Facebook, and even Twitter into a single interface that has enough smarts to separate those important messages your Mom sent you from everything else.

When email was first invented it was the main method of communication on the internet, but now with Twitter, Facebook, and Skype that is no longer the case. These new ways of communication are great but all this means is that we now have to check ten different places for new messages. In a blog post one of the Raindrop developers said, “We hope to lead and spur the development of extensible applications that help users easily and enjoyably manage their conversations, notifications, and messages across a variety of online services.”

Raindrop will recognize messages from various different mailing lists or other services that send numerous updates and files them into separate categories.

Raindrop is not a downloadable piece of software, it is actually a web application. Developers say “Our flagship applications will be built entirely for any modern web browser that supports open web technologies.”

Would you use Raindrop to centralize all your messages?

There are so many different twitter applications out there these days. But which one is right for you? Here’s a first look at Brizzly by Think labs.

There are so many different twitter applications out there these days. But which one is right for you? Here’s a first look at Brizzly by Think labs.

Brizzly is a web based twitter application. It has all the same features as all the other twitter apps and has some added bonuses.

1. “Trends and News”

This section displays the popular topics of right now and explains what that specific trend is all about. For example one of the trending topics was “Tweetie 2″ with a discription of “A new version of the iPhone Twitter app was released today. Some are whining that its $2.99 …”. Users or Brizzly can also edit the descriptions if they feel that they do not properly depict the reasoning behing the trend.

2. Mute

We all have them, those people that just post the worst updates but you just cant unfollow them because they might be family or a good friend. Brizzly has introduced a feature called Mute. Mute allows you to make sure that you never see another annoying update from that person without actually unfollowing them. You can always Un-Mute people once you feel that you want to hear from them again.

3. Readability

Short url’s are great if you want to include a url to your blog post in your 140 character or less tweet, but with shortened url’s you cant always know where the link will lead you to. Brizzly will expand url’s from many of the popular url shortening services into the full url so you can see if you’ve been rick rolled or not. When the expanded url turns out to be a link to a youtube video it will automaticly embed the video right there in Brizzley.

Brizzly is currently in a closed beta so if you would like to sign up and try it for yourself here using the invitation code “henrysentme” without the quotes.
